602 CA®

Alloy 602CA is a high-temperature nickel-chromium alloy that delivers outstanding oxidation resistance and thermal stability up to 1232°C.

Characteristics of 602 CA®

Alloy 602CA, also known as Inconel® Alloy 602CA (a registered trademark of VDM Metals International GmbH), is the most oxidation-resistant and high-strength nickel alloy available on the market today. It has been specifically engineered to provide long-term structural integrity under extreme heat, high mechanical stress, and corrosive gas exposure.

The alloy's high chromium (24–26%) and aluminium (1.8–2.4%) content forms a tenacious, protective oxide scale that ensures superior oxidation resistance. The presence of yttrium further enhances scale adherence, making Alloy 602CA suitable for prolonged use in carburising, sulphidising, and oxidising atmospheres.

With a high creep rupture strength—up to 150% greater than comparable high-temperature alloys—602CA resists thermal fatigue and deformation, ensuring durability even during thermal cycling.

  • Outstanding oxidation resistance up to 1232°C
  • High creep rupture strength for demanding environments
  • Superior carburisation resistance in carbon monoxide and methane atmospheres
  • Exceptional mechanical stability during thermal cycling
  • High ductility and weldability for easy fabrication
  • Proven high-temperature mechanical strength in prolonged service
  • UNS Number: N06025
  • Werkstoff Number: 2.4633
  • ASTM: B166, B168, B163, B167, B462, B517, B546, B564, B366
