C276 Fasteners in Animal Food Industry

NeoNickel supplied elbows, pipes, flanges and fasteners (washers, nuts & bolts) in C276 to one of the world leading animal food suppliers in France. The customer contacted us because they had to replace and maintain a particular component in the plant at very short notice.

Alloy C276 is used frequently in animal food production plants where particular parts are exposed to severe corrosive environments.  The fittings that are used to construct these parts simply do not get corroded or damaged easily due to its very protective and self-adherent chromium oxide passive layer. In aggressive or corrosive environments when other alloys have failed, many companies turn to C276 alloy – one of the most corrosion resistant alloys in the market. NeoNickel offer a complete package of C276 elbows, pipes, flanges and fasteners (washers, nuts & bolts) with good service and quality in the shortest possible lead-time.

NeoNickel’s C276 is a solid-solution strengthened, nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with a small amount of tungsten, which exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in an assortment of harsh environments including strong oxidizers such as ferric and cupric ions, hot contaminated media (organic and inorganic), formic acid and acetic acid. Moreover, alloy C276 has an excellent resistance to localised corrosion (pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking) in both oxidizing and reducing environments. It also demonstrates outstanding corrosion resistance in brine and sea water applications.
