ZERON® 100[:

(English) ZERON® 100 Welding Consumables

(English) ZERON® 100X is a Super Duplex (Austenite/Ferrite) weld consumable suitable for welding of all grades of Super Duplex stainless steel. It is designed to be used for as welded fabrication and will provide a phase balance within the range 50% +10 /- 20 %, ensuring that all corrosion and mechanical properties are optimised over most section thicknesses. It can also be used for welding of 22% Chromium and 13% Chromium steels.

Cleanliness

Good stainless steel practice is required.

Post Weld Heat Treatment

Duplex steels can only be solution annealed and quenched from 1100°C and so normally a post weld heat treatment is not required. Major casting repairs usually require a solution anneal at >1100°C followed by rapid water quench.

Sometimes and as a last resort a stress relief is required for dimensional stability and further information is available on request. It should be noted that a stress relief will reduce impact and corrosion properties.

All processing parameters are typical and should be adjusted as necessary to optimise weld quality and are dependent on product, section thickness, shielding gas and weld process. For optimum corrosion resistance in the root of pipe welds TIG welding with Ar/2%N or a derivative should be used for the root run and second pass.
