Alloy 36 is a low-expansion, Nickel-Iron alloy that contains 36% Nickel. Alloy 36 can maintain near-constant dimensions above room temperature based on the alloys low coefficient of thermal expansion, ranging from cryogenic temperatures to around 260 °C.

Using Filler Metal CF36, Alloy 36 is readily weldable. Welding products are available as bare wire for the GTAW and GMAW process.
